Sunday 16th June 2024: The Breathtaking Berwick Walk

The Breathtaking Berwick Walk will take place at 2pm on Sunday 16th June, led by Steve.

Description:

From Berwick we will do a circular walk over to Alfriston. We will return along the ridge of the South Downs to Alciston and back throught the fields to Berwick where we can take refreshments in the pub garden at the end of the walk.

Description:

From Hill Rise we head through the historic and picturesque Bishopstone, across Grand Avenue and Chalvington Field before heading inland towards Seaford Golf Course. We return via New Barn to finish with our usual refreshments.

Description:

A lovely winter’s walk, heading up along the stunning clifftops of the Seven Sisters before we head inland via Crowlink to Friston Pond. From there we make our way through Friston Forest to the picturesque village of Westdean, finishing with (optional) drinks at the Cuckmere Inn.

Our regular Seaford social on the first Tuesday of the month for a drink and a natter.

All LGBTQ+ people from near or far are welcome.

Sunday 19th May 2024: Delights of Ditchling Walk

The Delights of Ditchling Walk will take place at 2pm on Sunday 19th May, led by Gary.

Description:

We first head through complicated pathways past posh houses, Village Greens, Cemetery, woodland and wetlands (can be muddy) to an ancient small Saxon Church, then up a steep incline onto the South Downs Way, up past Ditchling Beacon, beautiful views before returning back down to Ditchling and a stop at the Bull Pub for a well earned drink/snack.

Description:

From Isfield we cross the River Ouse towards Agmond Wood via Dallas Lane. We then head to Crink Hill, which is flat! Passing between the White House and the Little House takes us back towards the Ouse. After refreshments at The Anchor Inn, we head back to Isfield with a lovely riverside walk.

We will walk towards Jevington where we can stop at the Pub there for a drink/snack, then up through the forest to rejoin the South Downs Way and then to walk under the ‘Long Man’ to return to our starting point.

Sunday 7th April 2024: 20th Birthday Walk – When South Heighton Met Southease

The 20th Birthday Walk will take place at 2pm on Sunday 7th April, led by Andrew.

Description:

From the meeting point outside the Hampden Arms we head straight up into the Downs towards Beddingham Hill until we intersect with the South Downs Way. We then head to Southease station, in keeping with our Birthday tradition, before returning to our starting point via the banks of the River Ouse. Refreshments towards the end at the Flying Fish.

Description:

Gentle hills up and down over several ‘Commons’ in delightful countryside. No pub or tea stops but we could go to the pub in Chailey after for a drink.

Meet at a small area off the road leading to Sheffield Park off of the A272, first turn left after the mini-roundabout coming into North Chailey either from Lewes or from Haywards Heath direction. After turning onto the Sheffield Park Road A275 about 30metres/yards turn left down a small side road and you will see off road parking where we will start the walk.
