Sunday 28th June 2026: The Long Man of Wilmington Walk

Description
One long moderate climb, then undulating before a flat riverside walk back to Alfriston. We will climb up along the South Downs Way, above the Long Man of Wilmington, then along a picturesque ridge before heading down into Friston Forest, then along to Litlington and hopefully able to get Afternoon Tea there. After this we will cross over to the footpath along the River Cuckmere to head back to Alfriston.

Sunday 7th June 2026: The Hills Have Ewes Walk

Description:

We start with a steep climb up to the ridge above Kingston and head along the Juggs Road, with scenic views across the area. From there we head down through the Castle Hill Nature Reserve to Falmer Bottom. We climb Swanborough Hill back to the ridge before heading down into Kingston for refreshments at the Juggs pub.

Car: Via A259/A27 + the Kingston/Piddinghoe Road (C7). Parking in nearby streets.

Meet at the junction of Kingston Ridge / Juggs Lane & Church Lane in Kingston.

Sunday 24th May 2026: The Seaford Saunter

Description:

First we walk east along Seaford beach before climbing Seaford Head to the nature reserve. Then we head inland, skirting round the edge of Seaford and via the fields behind the town, before looping round across the Grand Avenue fields to the usual stop for refreshments.

Majority flat, with a couple of hills

Transport:

Car: Via A259. Parking in nearby Buckle Car Park.
Bus: 12/12A/13 to the Hill Rise stop + 10 minutes walk.
Train: To Bishopstone Station + 5 minutes walk.

Meeting Point:

Meet on the beach pathway – the other side of the wall from the seafront – opposite The Buckle. Please do not congregate on the seafront pathway, as it is narrow and is shared with cyclists.

Description:

First west up into Friston Forest, then back down along another path to the south east towards the village again, then up east along the South Downs Way to a nice view point looking towards Hastings, then north and west back down to The Eight Bells Pub where we will have refreshments, before returning to our cars.
