Our regular Seaford social on the first Tuesday of the month for a drink and a natter.

All LGBTQ+ people from near or far are welcome.

Sunday 10th November 2024: All Around Alfriston

Description:

We head up from Alfriston onto the South Downs Way, then head south-east towards Seaford, before circling back towards our starting point. Refreshments in a local hostelry in Alfriston.

The Much Adur About Nothing Walk will take place at 2pm on Sunday 27th October, led by Gary.

Description:

We will walk up the long gentle Mill Hill to the park, then down towards the Adur River, which we cross to walk along the eastern side of Shoreham Airport and then along the back of the famous House Boats then onto the Beach at Shoreham. Before crossing over the bridge back towards town we will stop at the Pub ‘Waterside’.

Description:

Our walk starts by heading across the Telscombe Tye into Telscombe Village. We then head behind Peacehaven towards Piddinghoe, before turning towards the coast. We finish the walk with a scenic clifftop and undercliff walk, and then refreshments in the Smuggler’s Rest.

Description:

We cross the Bluebell railway twice (hopefully we will see a steam train) walk down to large lake, then along the top of a set of climbing cliffs (interesting to watch the climbers), then back into woodland where we go through the Gravetye Manor Estate. Drinks at the Fox Pub after.

Description:

We start with a fairly steep climb to the ridge above Kingston, then head via Swanborough Hill to Standean Bottom. We return via Castle Hill and the Juggs Road, before enjoying refreshments in the Juggs pub.

The Arun Amble Walk will take place at 2pm on Sunday 18th August, led by Gary.

Description:

We will walk to outskirts of Bramber to amble along the Arun down to Botolphs where we have a stop at the Horse Trailer Cafe, then either up along the South Downs Way to return to Steyning (long gentle incline with steep decline) 7.5 miles or return via the West Bank of Arun (just over 5 miles) depending on weather & general consensus.

Description:

We start with a nice riverside walk along the banks of the Ouse towards the White House and the Little House. We then head to Crink Hill (which is flat!), through Agmond Wood and along Dallas Lane before finishing in Isfield with a drink at the Laughing Fish.

Description:

From East Dean we head along Went Way to the cliffs at Birling Gap, then up past the Belle Tout lighthouse to Beachy Head. We return to East Dean across the countryside inland, ending with refreshments at the Tiger Inn.
